IDEMIXER
Face Recognition & Tracking:
This technology, commonly employed by law enforcement, military, spyware, intelligence agencies, and corporations to identify and track individuals, is repurposed in this project to challenge and confuse facial identities. By distorting these identities, the project highlights the artificial and arbitrary nature of identification systems, questioning their reliability and ethical implications.
The Resulting Video:
The video is deliberately unsettling, breaking away from traditional concepts of symmetry, color differentiation, and depth perception that the human eye typically relies on. When multiple spectators stand before the cameras, the system generates a composite portrait in real-time, blending their facial features into a hybrid image. This project incorporates a time element, allowing the fusion of faces to blend present and past identities.
